Abstract: The secondary emission of accelerated electrons from extended submicron-sized targets irradiated by a short relativistically intense laser pulse is considered. It is shown that from the electric (magnetic) field scattered by the target under certain conditions it is possible to distinguish unipolar pulse of ultrashort duration, which will propagate in one of the lateral directions relative to the direction of the original laser pulse movement.

Keywords: laser plasma, ultrashort pulse, unipolar pulse.
