Abstract:
Probabilities $W_{\operatorname{exc}}$ of intraband electron transitions that involve the participation of photons and longitudinal acoustic phonons in a covalent crystal are determined. It is shown that, in the case of prebreakdown light intensities, specific electron–phonon Rabi oscillations with frequency $\Omega_{R}^{(\operatorname{eff})}$ can occur, with this frequency being affected by processes of higher orders in the field of the light wave. As in previously considered processes with the participation of optical phonons, light is absorbed only until time $\tau_{1}$ to reach the first maximum in the dependence $W_{\operatorname{exc}}(t)$, where $t$ is the time elapsed since the beginning of the laser pulse.
