Abstract:
The features of the magneto-optical effect of changing the transparency in a magnetic emulsion with a low interfacial tension are investigated. The interpretation of the effect is based on the approximation of anomalous diffraction. The characteristic times of exposure to the field are established at which the optical effect is not affected by the processes of coalescence and structuring of the sample. The relaxation time of the effect is determined and the results are compared with calculations based on the mechanisms of small deformations of microdroplets and rotational Brownian diffusion.
