Abstract: A fiber laser system of telecommunication range with simple block structure is considered. The main elements of the system are pulsed erbium fiber laser and several fiber amplifires. Including a fiber stretcher with a high normal dispersion the system works as a generator of high energy pulses. The characteristics of the high-power output amplifier and the pre-amplifiers are matched in such a way that the system is simply reconfigured into a supercontinuum source of the range from 600 to 2400 nm generated at the output of highly nonlinear fiber.
