Abstract: The results of experimental studies, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation of the features of the formation of photo-refractive gratings by the interference pattern of recording laser beams with high contrast in a LiNbO$_{3}$ : Cu X-cut plate created by diffusion doping from a metal film are presented.
