Abstract:
We present the results of our investigation into the effect of localized surface plasmon resonances of gold and silver nanoparticles on the emissivity of two organic dyes—2-(4-(dimethylamino)styryl)-1-methylpyridinium and rhodamine B–in acrylate-based polymer matrices formed on the surface of island metal films by the UV lithography method. We show that the presence of plasmon resonances significantly enhances both the optical absorption and the fluorescence intensity of these organic dyes in polymer matrices.
