Features of controlled laser thermal cleavage of quartz glass

Abstract: This paper presents finite element analysis based on the remeshing technique to predict laser-induced crack propagation in quartz glass. The simulation process is accomplished by the analysis of the coupled temperature and stress fields together with the criteria of fracture mechanics of the crack growth.
