Abstract:
Dispersion of propagation constants of TE$_2$ modes of a thin left-handed film on a substrate with the Kerr effect is considered in a narrow frequency range near the group velocity zero of the mode. The possibility of managing such dispersion by varying the light field intensity by varying the frequency is demonstrated. Conditions under which the propagation constants do not change with a change in frequency are determined. Soliton-like wave packets are considered.
