Abstract: Hydrogel electrodes transparent in the visible range have been used for the first time to generate periodic sequences of nanosecond pulsed spark discharges with current amplitude up to 400 A at a 250-Hz repetition frequency. Video images of the discharge and craters formed on the surface of hydrogel electrodes are presented.
