A modified Kolsky method for determining the shear strength of brittle materials

Abstract: A new modification of the Kolsky method is proposed, according to which a loaded sample is arranged in an obliquely cut tube casing. Using this configuration, it is possible to determine the shear stress of low-plasticity materials.
