Abstract:
It is shown that Cd$_{x}$Hg$_{1-x}$Te solid-solution nanoparticles can be produced by ball milling, but their presence is masked by larger particles. The methods of laser-correlation spectroscopy and X-ray-diffraction analysis have been used to study the structure of the nanoparticles and their size distribution. The presence of a compositional disordering of the solid solution structure was experimentally confirmed.
