The influence of hydrodynamic interparticle interactions on the dynamic susceptibility of kerosene-based monodisperse magnetite fluid

Abstract: The concentration dependence of the dynamic magnetic susceptibility of a magnetic fluid in a frequency range of from 1 Hz to 100 kHz has been measured at various temperatures. Al low temperatures, a phase shift between the magnetization and magnetic field strength decreases with increasing concentration. A decrease in energy losses in the concentrated samples is explained by mutual synchronization of the rotation of particles in opposite directions as a result of their hydrodynamic interaction.
