Settling dynamics of a cluster of monodispersed drops

Abstract: The results of an experimental study of the gravitational settling dynamics of a cluster of monodispersed drops are presented. A new method is proposed for obtaining a cloud of monodispersed drops with regulated values of their size and volume concentration.The qualitative picture of the deformation of the initial spherical cluster into a prolate spheroid in the process of settling and the velocity settling of the center of mass of the cluster are determined.
