Abstract: In this paper, a quasilinear equation is derived that describes the evolution of the ion distribution function due to the ion Bernstein waves of intermediate frequency range. It is shown that the quasilinear equation can be reduced approximately to a one-dimensional equation in the space of transverse ion velocities, and the diffusion coefficient is proportional to the wave's power absorbed.

Keywords: ion Bersnstein wave, quasilinear diffusion.
