Abstract: In TUMAN-3M tokamak the series of experiments with cryogenic hydrogen pellet injection was carried out. In these experiments the evolution of plasma potential in central and peripheral regions of plasma discharge was studied by means of heavy ion beam probe and Langmuir probe diagnostics. Measurements show that the evaporation of solid pellet in the chosen experimental set-up could initiate temporal confinement improvement (up to 2–3 ms).

Keywords: plasma physics, tokamak, potential, radial electric field, heavy ion beam probe, pellet injection.
