Abstract:
A method for determining the effective plasma charge by measuring bremsstrahlung is proposed. For this purpose, a high-temporal-resolution X-ray detector is installed on the TUMAN-3M tokamak. The first values of the effective plasma charge $Z_{eff}$ for an ohmic discharge, averaged over volume of the detector's field of view, are obtained as a function of time.
