The spin Hall effect in polycrystalline samples of nonmagnetic fifth- and sixth-period metals

Abstract: In this paper we propose a method to estimate the coefficient of spin Hall effect for polycrystalline samples of pure nonmagnetic metals. The transverse resistivities characterizing the spin Hall effect were calculated for different metals of the 5th and 6th periods. It is shown that the result within a statistical error agrees with the experimental data.
