An unstable misfit strain in the sodium niobate thin film

Abstract: The possibility of unstable misfit strain at the film/substrate interface is considered using the example of a sodium niobate thin film. The conditions for the existence of an electret-like state of micro-sized blocks on its surface and the use of the unstable misfit strain in the preparation of ferroelectric thin-film materials are assessed.
