Abstract: The emergence of a turbulent tornado with increasing length, deflected by an angle of 45$^\circ$, of the nose part of a longitudinally oriented groove on the channel wall is considered. The restructuring of the separated flow structure in the inlet part of the groove is associated with the formation of a growing transverse extraordinary pressure drop and is accompanied by a sharp intensification of the swirling flow in the groove and vortex heat transfer.

Keywords: separated flow, tornado-like vortex, narrow channel, longitudinal groove with deviated toe, intensification, heat transfer, numerical modeling.
