Abstract: The aspects of operation of a thermoelectric detector in a shock-heated partially ionized air environment are considered. The effect of charged particles located near its sensitive element on the detector readings is shown. Data on the registration of the photoionization process before the shock wave front are presented.

Keywords: shock tube, thermoelectric detector, ionization.
