Nonradiative resonance energy transfer between two semiconductor quantum dots

Abstract: We consider the nonradiative resonance energy transfer between two semiconductor quantum dots (donor and acceptor), taking into account the nonparabolicity of the electron dispersion law, and the energy transfer due to the Coulomb interaction between charge carriers of the donor and acceptor. We show that, when nonparabolicity of the dispersion law is taken into account, a new term enters the matrix element of the energy transfer, which enhances the probability of the resonance energy transfer.
