Abstract:
Some physical characteristics necessary for calculating the circuit of and selecting the optimum conditions for the electric explosion of zinc wires have been experimentally determined, including the specific action of zinc $h_b$ = (0.70 $\pm$ 0.15) $\times$ 10$^5$ A$^2$$\cdot$ s/mm$^4$ (for maximum current densities 2 $\times$ 10$^5$$<j_M<$ 4.5 $\times$ 10$^5$ A/mm$^2$) and the critical length of exploding wire $\lambda_{cr}$ = 1.8 $\cdot$ 10$^3$($\varepsilon\nu$$\cdot$ 10$^{-6}$)$^{0.56}$.
