Abstract:
Numerical solutions of the continuous Zeldovich equation for the nucleus size distribution function are obtained with allowance for the fluctuation-induced blurring and recondensation at various dimensions of the growing islands and growth indices. The results of numerical simulations are compared to those obtained using analytical models. It is established that the behavior of the mean island size and supersaturation is well described by the analytical expressions obtained previously, but the variance of the size distribution function significantly exceeds the value predicted by the analytical theory.
