Abstract:
Frequency tunable infrared whispering gallery mode (WGM) semiconductor laser with a disk cavity has been created that operates at a wavelength of 3.5 $\mu$m at a temperature of 79 K. The laser radiation spectra have been studied. Smooth tuning of the main WGM toward shorter wavelengths by 11 $\mathring{\mathrm{A}}$ due to nonlinear optical effects has been observed.
