Abstract: The penetration of particles suspended in a liquid into a porous medium is studied. The problem describing changes in the properties of the medium in the neighborhood of a moving boundary is formulated. A solution method is proposed, and flow features are investigated. The structure of the region of significant changes in the properties of the medium and flow depends significantly on the rate of displacement of the moving boundary.

Keywords: porous medium, suspension, colmatage, moving boundary, boundary zone, rate of layer cutting, penetration front.
