Abstract: The motion of a body in an ideal incompressible fluid flow without vortices in the absence of external forces is considered. It is demonstrated that the body can move inertially from the state at rest if its shape satisfies certain conditions.

Keywords: ideal incompressible fluid, vortex-free flow, motion of a body in a fluid, inertia.
