Abstract: The high-temperature extension of metals to fracture is modeled for creep at constant stress or at constant strain rate. The dependence of the ultimate fracture strain on the loading factor (stress or strain rate) is studied. The nonmonotonic nature of this dependence with an internal maximum is described using the Rabotnov kinetic theory with one and two damage parameters. Available experimental data are analyzed.

Keywords: deformability, strain rate, fracture, creep, creep rupture strength, modeling, damage, superplasticity.
