Separation of contacting surfaces in thermoelastic interaction of two cylinders with time-dependent heat release due to friction

Abstract: The problem of a thermoelastic interaction of two cylinders with separation of their contact surfaces due to local loading of lateral surfaces is formulated and solved. The effect of the multiply connected contact region is shown to exist under a certain relation between the linear thermal expansion coefficients of the bodies.
