Abstract: A novel dynamic technique for normal momentum accommodation study in a “gas–solid body” system is developed. The method can also be used for pressure measurements and adsorption studies. The experimental setup is described. The data obtained are interpreted with allowance for geometric parameters. The normal momentum accommodation coefficients are estimated on the basis of measurement results in systems “hydrogen (nitrogen) gas mixture–single-crystal silicon”.

Keywords: rarefied gas, gas–surface interaction, normal momentum, accommodation coefficient.
