Abstract: Thermal convection is studied in an inhomogeneous medium consisting of a fluid and a solid admixture under conditions of finite–frequency vibrations. Convection equations are derived within the framework of the generalized Boussinesq approximation, and the problem of flow stability in a vertical layer of a viscous fluid with horizontal oscillations along the layer to infinitely small perturbations is considered. A comparison with experimental data is made.
