Abstract: The stability of a layer of a viscoelastic liquid on an inclined plane is studied within the framework of the model with a time-dependent “memory” in the presence of surface tension. It is shown analytically and numerically that these flows can be stable or unstable depending on the Reynolds number. Profiles of the free surface are found as functions of the Reynolds and Weber numbers.
