$E$-Optimal Coding Rates of a Randomly Varying Source with Side Information at the Decoder

E. A. Arutyunyan, R. Sh. Marutyan

Abstract: Upper and lower bounds are constructed on optimal code rates as a function of the given error exponent $E$ for a randomly varying source with an informed decoder. The following two cases are considered: (1) state information is delivered to the decoder coded at a given rate; (2) an accuracy criterion is specified for the reconstruction of coded messages, and the source states are completely known at the decoder.
