Abstract:
The problems of qualitatively estimating the degree of hazard of directional laser beams are considered using a model of the interaction of Gaussian radiation beams of various divergences with the optical system of the eye. Expressions are obtained for determining the dimensions of a light spot on the retina under the worst accomodation conditions and for estimating the degree of hazard of radiation as a function of the laser beam diameter in the plane of the pupil.
