Abstract:
The development of a cw room-temperature laser tunable in the 0.86-1 $\mu m$ range, utilizing $F^+_2$ color centers in an $LiF$ crystal, is reported. When pumped by a krypton laser ( $\lambda=0,647$ mm), its lasing threshold was 400 mW. A method of regenerating centers using excimer laser radiation ($\lambda=310$ nm) was tried.
