Abstract:
A design study was made of a laser projection microscope with a large luminescent screen for the visualization of infrared images. The characteristics of a barium vapor amplifier were determined. The gain per trip was found to be $\thicksim2,7\cdot10^3$. Tests were carried out on screens made of all known phosphor classes: temperature-sensitive, light-sensitive, and anti-Stokes. All these classes could be used in the proposed microscope and the optimal phosphor would be determined by the requirements in respect of the image parameters.
