Active media and laser resonators

Selectivity of a dispersive resonator with an inhomogeneous aperture

V. I. Kravchenko, Yu. N. Parkhomenko, V. A. Sokolov

Abstract: An investigation is reported of the influence of the profile of the reflection coefficient of mirrors on the selectivity of dispersive resonators with different parameters. It is shown that in the range where the Fresnel number exceeds unity the dependence of selective properties on the profile becomes considerably stronger and there is an optimum, which is a function of the nature of the laser operation when the selectivity can be much higher than for a homogeneous aperture.
