Abstract:
The spatial and temporal characteristics of spontaneous magnetic fields were investigated over a wide range of the residual-gas pressure for dielectric targets. The results obtained are qualitatively explained on the emf of a double layer ($\mathscr E\approx kT/e$) localized near the boundary of the laser-induced plasma and a system of closed currents, associated with this emf, which flow in the laser-induced plasma and in the residual-gas plasma.
