Abstract:
Dynamic holographic recording and erasure was investigated for the first time in a new class of mixed $(ZnSe)_x-(GaP)_{1-x}$ semiconductor crystals. At high excitation rates the Auger recombination process became important and it limited seriously the diffraction efficiency of nonequilibrium-carrier holograms. This process and the absorption of light by free carriers results in additional heating of crystals and formation of thermal holograms.
