Abstract:
Theoretical and experimental investigations were made of the dependences of the output power of a waveguide resonator $CO_2$ laser on the pump current density $J$. It was found that when the active medium and waveguide resonator parameters were fixed, there was an optimal value of $J$ for which the laser output power was maximal. A calculation was made of the $J$ dependence of the coefficient for the conversion into stimulated emission of the energy per unit time fed into the $N_2$ vibrational mode and into the $CO_2$ antisymmetric mode. The theoretical and experimental results were compared.
