Abstract:
An experimental study was made of the operation of a quasi-cw dye laser pumped by the second harmonic of a cw-pumped YAG: $Nd^{3+}$ laser. A high conversion efficiency ($\thicksim20$ %) and a narrow spectral width of the emitted line ($<1$ pm) were achieved. An analysis was made of the feasibility of using resonators with dispersive prisms as selective elements in such dye lasers.
