Experimental investigation of the possibility of efficient extraction of energy from the active medium of a $DF-CO_2$ amplifier of nanosecond radiation pulses
Abstract:
An experimental investigation was made of a $DF-CO_2$ short-pulse amplifier, initiated by lamps, operating under conditions close to rotational equilibrium, and utilizing gas mixtures $D_2:F_2CO_2=1:3:8$ and $3:3:14$ at total pressures of 0.2-0.75 atm. For a $DF-CO_2$ amplifier operating with the $D_2:F_2:CO_2=3:3:14$ gas mixture at a total pressure of 0.75 atm, a specific output energy of 11.5 mJ/cm${}^3$ was obtained at an efficiency (referred to the energy supplied to the active medium) of $\thicksim660\%$.
