Coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering of light by polaritons in an LiIO3 crystal

An apparatus is described for obtaining spectra of coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) of light by polaritons. Polariton CARS spectra are given to illustrate the possibility of separating and observing interference between the direct four-photon and two-stage three-photon processes involved in the scattering.
