Abstract:
A program is developed to calculate the pumping of a multiflashlamp disk amplifier. This can be used to calculate the time dependence and spatial distribution of the population inversion in the active elements of laser amplifier systems. The program takes into account the real geometry of the system, spectralluminescence properties of the laser glass, spectral-temporal characteristics of the pump source, and amplified spontaneous emission. Results of some numerical experiments are presented. The calculated results are compared with the experimental data.
