Determination of the parameters of one-mode diffused waveguides

Abstract: A model is suggested for the refractive index profile of layer waveguides prepared by the diffusion of metallic silver into optical glasses. The waveguide parameters are determined and the quantitative characteristics of the process of diffusion of silver in K-8, BK-4, and LF-11 glasses are calculated.
