Abstract: Conditions are found for ensuring compensation of nonlinear distortions of elliptically polarized beams by wavefront reversal. It is shown that, in contrast to the case of linear polarization, there are several ways of achieving such compensation and they reduce to wavefront reversal which conserves the polarization structure and is characterized by near-unity reflection coefficients as well as additional rotation of the polarization vectors.
