Abstract:
An investigation was made of the dynamics of a high-current discharge in indium vapor. The average values of the discharge temperature and plasma density were determined. The spectral brightness of the discharge was measured with photocells in the visible range and with an open ionization chamber in the vacuum ultraviolet range. The experimental results were compared with the theoretically calculated approximate spectral distribution. The investigation demonstrated that a high-current discharge in indium vapor was an efficient source of vacuum ultraviolet radiation.
