Abstract:
An investigation was made of the population inversion lifetime, intensity rise time, spectral composition, divergence, and shape of light pulses emitted by an iodine laser with active Q switching. The laser beam diameter was 8 mm, output energy was 0.2 J, and the duration of single spikes in a pulse was ~ 5 nsec.
