Use of subnanosecond T jump and picosecond multichannel Raman spectroscopy for the study of conformational dynamics of biological macromolecules

H. Tourbez, P. Valat, C. Reiss, M. Ya. Shchelev

Abstract: A description is given of a laser-induced subnanosecond temperature jump (T jump) which perturbs a medium. An analysis of the vibrational spectra of the components of a reaction initiated by a temperature jump is carried out by broad-band multichannel Raman spectroscopy. The temperature jump is produced by picosecond infrared pulses resulting from the stimulated Raman scattering of 1.06 μ radiation in various compounds.
