Abstract: An investigation was made of the periodic emission from a laser whose neodymium-glass element was force cooled by a circulating liquid or it was cooled by free convection. The energy and divergence, the latter being measured at 0.1 of the maximum intensity level, were determined for different operating conditions. The laser radiation parameters were compared with the deformation of the active element. A method for accelerating the attainment of quasicontinuous emission was tested.
