Abstract:
A theoretical study is made of photochemical waves in media in which chain reactions can occur. A simple physical model is suggested for finding the velocity of a wave in a medium with unbranched chains (final chain length $\nu<\infty$). The problem of propagation of a wave in a gas with a monomolecular branching mechanism of chain reactions is considered. The influence of the concentration of a stabilizing impurity and other parameters of the problem on the nature of such waves is analyzed.
